We feel privileged to work for Scott Brownrigg and recognise that with this comes a responsibility for our actions and decisions. As designers of the built environment, the places we create for our clients impact on the people who own, occupy and visit them. We call these our end users. We recognise that as a company we have the ability communally to undertake fundraising. We also recognise that as a top 20 architectural practice we should continue to support our profession.
End Users
We seek to engage in effective consultation; to listen to what is said and encourage our clients to do the same. We have regular discussions with occupiers, as part of our design process, to ensure we can take into account the views and comments of those end users.
08/09 Target:Adopt effective community engagement.
Fundraising
As a company we make donations to five selected charities. Our staff are also involved in many charitable causes. In the last year, 42 of us ran in the Land Aid Fun Run and us completed the London to Brighton bike ride for the British Heart Foundation. We wore it pink for breast cancer research, grew moustaches for prostate cancer and wore jeans for children with genetic disorders, among a range of other fundraising activities.
Support
We retain links with Portsmouth and Guildford universities, sponsoring prize giving and mentoring. We provide bursaries to selected architectural courses.
08/09 Target:Maintain/enhance support offered to students in relevant fields
