Environmental Policy

Scott Brownrigg is an international architectural, town planning, masterplanning and interior design practice with a heritage spanning almost 100 years. The scope of our Environmental Management System is to cover all London and Guildford office activities and our project design solutions.

Scott Brownrigg focus on achieving a balance between commercial insight and design excellence. Our integrated design teams offer specialist independent services or a fully integrated design service as appropriate to our client’s needs.   We recognise that understanding how we affect the environment through our designs and as individuals must be at the very heart of our company.

The Board of Directors fully endorses the Environmental Policy and makes a clear commitment to continual environmental improvement in pursuit of our wider Corporate Responsibility Policy requirements. It shall set targets for these policies and monitor the achievement of the aims of this policy on a regular basis, including applicable legal and other requirements.

Our mission is to combine vision with action, to make a positive difference to our clients, our staff, the wider community and to the environment, both now and in the future.   Throughout the company we will:

  • Establish our environmental baseline to improve performance and implement measures to reduce our carbon footprint;
  • Increase awareness and prevention of potential pollution that results from our business activities;
  • Identify areas of waste creation and to set targets for reduction and recycling;
  • Improve environmental knowledge, encourage forward thinking and develop environmentally responsible behaviour and awareness;
  • Seek to reduce the environmental impact of our projects through our design solutions and advice; and
  • Initiate discussion with clients on environmental issues and advise on options and opportunities.

The implementation of this policy is expected of all employees through both day-to-day office activities and building designs. All employees will be provided with necessary resources (equipment, information, instruction) and training to enable fulfilment of the policy requirements. This policy will be communicated to all present and future employees, suppliers and subcontractors.
