Darren Comber

Group Director

Darren is a Group Director of Scott Brownrigg and is based in our London office where he leads a large creative team. With Board responsibility for the quality of design across the practice, he has been at the forefront of many major projects over the last fifteen years, both in the UK and internationally.

Having commenced a course in architecture at the University of the South West, Darren completed his architectural studies at the Bartlett, University College London, where, during his time there, he was awarded a distinction and the Camden Society of Arts prize for Design.

Instigating a fresh enthusiasm for modern architecture, ensuring high standards of design and exploring the implementation of innovative ideas, Darren works closely with clients to ensure aspirations and goals are exceeded. His work involving the masterplanning and detailed design of large mixed use developments and education schemes is complemented by a sensitive concern for intimate, small scale projects and the restoration and refurbishment of historic buildings.

Sustainability is a key focus and Darren chaired the unit on sustainability at the British Council for Offices conference in Paris in 2005 and he has been involved with many of the practice's high profile sustainable and award winning schemes over the years. Darren has been a judge on the Office Agency Awards panel for the past three years and is currently involved with high profile buildings and masterplans in Central London as well as schemes throughout the regions.
