Urban Transport Interchanges

Urban transport interchanges currently represent a huge missed opportunity in design. Scott Brownrigg recently partnered the Helen Hamlyn Research Centre and the Architecture Department, both at the Royal College of Art, in its study of new urban design approaches for transport interchanges. The research addressed ways to remove barriers to change in terms of a more imaginative use of land, media and visual language around transport interchanges. It aimed to maximise commercial and social opportunities on key interchange sites, setting urban design in the context of the growing community demand for mobility for all.
