MoD Procurement HQ, Abbeywood, BristolScott Brownrigg was the executive architect and landscape designer for this award winning facility, comprising 121,000 sq m of low energy office, conference centre, library, dining facilities, crèche, fitness facilities, energy centre and gatehouse. In order to facilitate a rapid construction process and excellent exchange of information, Scott Brownrigg established a design team of 30 staff on site for the duration of the project. The design demonstrates the benefits of an integrated architectural, services and structural design strategy, delivering: Low energy displacement ventilation; warm and cold facades; large levels of thermal insulation; exposed concrete soffits to the offices; BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating; security requirements.
