NorthwoodThe appointment as masterplanners, architects, town planners and interior designers for the Ministry of Defence Northwood Headquarters has confirmed Scott Brownrigg’s market leading position in delivering PFI /PPP projects within the defence sector.
Covering 17 hectares, the masterplan provides a framework to rationalise the site's diverse activities - living accommodation, recreational and community, around a core of operational facilities, both above and The regeneration involves the demolition of a large number of existing buildings and the construction of new buildings including the HQ building, Maritime Operations Centre, sports centre, community facilities including a church as well as the the conversion and refurbishment of facilities such as the single living accommodation, mess bar and Royal Navy Reserve training centre. All designed to achieve ‘Excellent’ and ‘Very Good’ BREEAM ratings, respectively. The interior design fully reflects the ethos and heritage of the armed forces.
