Project Allenby/ConnaughtScott Brownrigg is providing architectural and masterplanning services to Aspire Defence which is delivering Project Allenby/Connaught on behalf of the MoD. The £8 billion PFI programme is upgrading Army garrisons at Aldershot and across the Salisbury Plain. The project covers 1,240 hectares and will deliver enhanced facilities for approximately 18,700 military and civilian personnel. The design solutions provided by Scott Brownrigg will assist the MoD in improving the way in which soldiers live, work and recuperate from operations. The schemes create a ‘village living’ environment including single living accommodation, dining centres, pubs and mess buildings. In addition, a wide variety of social and community facilities including gymnasia, fitness suites, community centres, regional rehabilitation centres, medical and dental centres and garrison theatres. Project Allenby/Connaught is providing new or refurbished ensuite bedrooms for some 11,500 personnel.
