Crystal Palace Station

Crystal Palace Station is a grade II listed building dating from 1854. It was built specifically to serve the crowds who visited the Crystal Palace Exhibition. Crystal Palace Station is an important element of the East London Line Project and acts as a gateway to the future redevelopment of Crystal Palace Park.  Scott Brownrigg was appointed to produce a Conservation Strategy Plan to investigate how the station can be preserved and upgraded to meet current disabled access and safety standards. This involved carrying out extensive historic research and assessment of the way the station functions.

As a result of the success of the Conservation Strategy Plan was Scott Brownrigg was appointed to submit a detailed planning and listed building application to refurbish the station.  This work includes reopening the originally Victorian ticket hall, installing new lifts and forming a new ETFE canopy to cover the platforms.
