Concept design for hotel, LondonScott Brownrigg was given a flexible brief to design a hotel in central London. A complex site within a conservation area defined by its art and crafts history, Scott Brownrigg responded with a dynamic proposal, nick named the Spiral Vortex Tower. The 350 room spiral was developed as a result of the need to open and close the building at different points and has two skins; the outer forming a glazed acoustic baffle and the inner enclosing the rooms with a transparent skin of surface artwork. A spiral ramp connects the public areas at the heart of the building. Back to Hospitality and Leisure projects
