Ashford

Scott Brownrigg was appointed to undertake a Sustainability Appraisal for the North Ashford Development Corridor site.  The Sustainability Appraisal was undertaken to accompany the representations made in support of the proposed inclusion of the North Ashford Development Corridor, a 266 acre site, within the Core Strategy Development Plan Document of the Ashford Local Development Framework.

The Appraisal considered how the North Ashford Development Corridor compared against the Sustainability Appraisal Framework produced by the Ashford Borough Council.  It assessed the impact, on the Council’s Core Strategy Sustainability Report, of incorporating the proposals into the Ashford Core Strategy.

The topics assessed were:

  • Protection of the Environment;
  • Social Progress;
  • Prudent Use of Natural Resources;
  • Economic Growth; and
  • Transport.
