Witham Academies

Scott Brownrigg has been appointed by Carillion Building to provide town planning, urban design and architectural services in connection with the delivery of new buildings and external facilities for two new academies in Witham, Essex, on behalf of the Academies Enterprise Trust. 

The initial feasibility stage of the project included a Strategic Urban Design Analysis of the whole town to consider the provision of replacement leisure and community facilities on either site in connection with the provision of each academy.  It included analysis of natural topography, historic growth patterns, land use distribution, access, movement, legibility and views.  These layers of analysis, in combination with our planning policy review, informed the recommended strategy for land use distribution across the two academy sites. 

Scott Brownrigg' sarchitects are progressing detailed designs for each site and the planning team will submit planning applications in due course.
