Bangkok Metropolitan Rapid Transit SystemThe Initial System of the Bangkok MRT comprises a single line from Hua Lamphong in the south, to Bang Su in the north. Nine stations were designed with minimal impact on the street scene, whilst projecting a strong Thai identity. The designs incorporated two overlapping roof planes with inclined structure and a secondary 'welcoming' canopy - both distinctly Thai but within a contemporary steel and glass form.
