Iain leads the practice’s Advanced Technologies group. He has extensive experience of planning, designing and delivering complex projects characterised by the transformative impact emerging technology has in shaping architecture and cities.

Iain and his team are focussing on disruptive planning through new combinations of urban use such as ‘Smart Shed’ which addresses the ‘last mile’ of urban logistics, 'Smart Block’ which layers value by stacking a range of human and automated uses ranging from R&D to Industry 4.0 in a vertical structure, 'High Rise Data' and ‘New Urban Mix’ a technology led approach to urban regeneration. Advanced Technologies are also architect / master planner for NuGeneration’s Moorside Project, the largest nuclear new build in Europe.

Previous projects include Delhi Aerotropolis, Syngenta Global HQ Basel, Moorside and Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Stations, P&G’s research complexes in Frankfurt and Geneva, Telehouse West in Docklands, Oracle’s European Headquarters in Paris, Mercedes-Benz World Brooklands and Lakeside offices in Lausanne.

Iain is Principal Investigator, IUS at ArtEZ University of the Arts, The Netherlands and his work has been published and exhibited in Europe, USA and Asia.
