Scott Brownrigg shortlisted for two Building Awards
Scott Brownrigg has successfully been shortlisted for Architectural Practice of the Year at this year’s Building Awards. In addition the practice’s BREEAM Outstanding Education scheme – Coleg Cymunedol Y Dderwen Comprehensive School in Bridgend, Wales has made the shortlist for the Sustainable Project of the Year category.
The annually held Building Awards recognise excellence and outstanding performance within the UK construction industry.
The shortlisting’s reflect the hard work, commitment and quality of design that is being carried out across the practice. 2013 was a milestone year for Scott Brownrigg, marked by a restructuring of the Board and the development of a clear Vision that focuses on high quality design and continued expansion; with offices opened in Singapore and Edinburgh. Continued business growth, efficiencies and investments in staff, skills and services resulted in a 76% increase in operating profits. The practice won significant schemes in Moscow, Prague, Paris, Vienna, Zagreb, Minsk and Singapore, and across sectors there were particular successes in residential, business space, education and defence.
Coleg Cymunedol Y Dderwen Comprehensive School, which opened its doors to students in September 2013, is the current BREEAM Education Award Winner with an impressive 89.82% rating; the school is being used as an exemplar project for the Low Carbon Research Institute.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony being held on 2 April at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
