Darren Comber, CEO at Scott Brownrigg to judge Sustainability Achievement Category at Property Week Awards 2012

Darren Comber, CEO at Scott Brownrigg has joined a panel to judge the Sustainability Achievement category at this year’s Property Week Awards, which take place on the 19 April at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

The awards recognise outstanding performance in the UK property market by individuals and companies over the last 12 months, across seventeen categories.  Those shortlisted within the Sustainability Achievement category will have approached the subject from either a project specific context or from a wider company context or client offering.

Darren, who also leads the Business Space sector at Scott Brownrigg has been responsible for the design of some of the most sustainable award-winning commercial buildings delivered by the practice over the last 10 years.  These include Red Kite House in Oxfordshire, which continues to be the benchmark for sustainable office design. He is a regular speaker within the property industry on the subject.

Darren is currently working with Hilson Moran and G & T on a follow up to the BCO endorsed research ‘Can do refurbishment’  due to launch later this year, and with Hoare Lea and Waterman Group on comparative post occupancy studies, which compare the efficiencies of contrasting ventilation strategies of two office buildings.

On judging the awards, Darren said:
“I am delighted to have been asked again to contribute to judging the sustainability category of the Property Week Awards. Those shortlisted have displayed highly innovative solutions and approaches and each has demonstrated a thorough and detailed approach to the subject, either through the delivery of a specific building or through a holistic and more comprehensive assessment of sustainable design generally.”
