Planning bulletin 30 September

From 1 October 2009, the Government is introducing a package of measures to give more flexibility to existing planning permissions without the need for a fresh planning application.  These measures comprise:

1. Allowing extensions to the lifetime of existing permissions
2. Streamlining the process for making minor material amendments to planning permissions
3. Implementing powers to make non-material amendments to planning permissions

Please click here for a short briefing note on the changes which includes a letter from Chief Planner at the CLG, Steve Quartermain, to all Chief Planning Officers, explaining the changes.

If you have any queries on these changes or would like any advice on how best to keep your planning permission alive, please contact the Scott Brownrigg Planning team.
