Planning permission received for 55 Scarsdale Villas in Kensington


Scott Brownrigg's  planning and architectural teams have secured planning permissions for conversion works to form a single family dwelling, extensions and the creation of a large basement located below 55 Scarsdale Villas in Kensington.

Granted on behalf of clients, BlackOnyx Developments Ltd, the permissions are associated with the conversion of this grand Victorian property from four flats back into a large luxury single family dwelling.

Scott Brownrigg’s planning and architecture teams prepared the planning application and drawings for the property that lies within the Edwards Square/ Scarsdale/ Abingdon Conservation Area. In order to secure planning permission the application clearly demonstrated that the proposed basement covered no more than 85% of the front and rear garden area, in line with local policy, and would not have any adverse impacts on the appearance of the Conservation Area.

The application was decided at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s planning applications committee, with a unanimous vote from members in favour of the application.
