Scott Brownrigg gets shortlisted for two Constructing Excellence Awards
International design practice, Scott Brownrigg has been shortlisted for two categories in the 2013 Constructing Excellence in London and the South East Awards, for Health & Safety and Innovation.
The awards are unique in their recognition of outstanding companies and projects that have delivered improvements in all-round performance through collaborative working and a real desire to make a difference.
The successful award submission communicates the Technical Service team's Pictorial Risk Assessment methodology, which identifies significant risks at design stages in a visual way; communicateing risk to all stakeholders in a jargon free and clear way it facilitates open discussion of design risk resolution options, allows access to more detailed information (if required), communicates risk reduction methods to others and also creates feed back to the industry.
All finalists demonstrated clear vision and early engagement, and delivered sustainable outcomes underpinned through a commitment to health and safety. Industry leadership, a commitment to customer satisfaction and progressive culture change were the consistent and winning messages.
For the Innovation Category, judges were looking for the best organisation or project that took the most innovative approach to overcome a specific challenge on site, identify emerging market opportunities, or develop a new/improved product or service. Whilst for the Health and Safety Category the judges were looking for a project or organisation where health and safety has been driven way beyond what is required within the duties stated in CDM 2007.
The judges also looked at the entrants' overarching health and safety management systems, accident records and their demonstration of effective risk management throughout the project.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony taking place on the 20 June.
