Scott Brownrigg Interior Design projects get shortlisted for Mixology 12 Awards

Scott Brownrigg Interior Design projects -  Thomson Reuters at Vinters’ Place in the City of London and Quintiles EMEA Headquarters at Green Park, Reading have both been shortlisted for this year’s Mixology 12 Awards within the “Small/Medium Commercial Interiors and “Large Commercial Interiors” categories respectively.

Now in its seventh year, these prestigious awards recognise the ground breakers and boundary pushers of the commercial interiors sector and are judged by an independent panel of experts.

The expansion and fit out of Thomson Reuters’ located on the third floor of the exclusive Vinters’ Place on the River Thames in the City of London consists of a combination of both cellular and open plan areas, meeting rooms, including 60 minute meeting rooms, a project room and informal collaboration spaces.  Informal meeting areas have also been cleverly placed around the space to relieve the work spaces, and future proof as the company continues to grow. The main open plan area sits adjacent to a spectacular atrium which forms a viewing point and filters natural light.

The central spacious tea point and break out area creates a collaborative and informal meeting space for both new and existing employees and represents both the old and new.  This area features a stunning, orange slatted ceiling, which is also practical for services, a long Corian clad island bench which features an edge lit perspex division screen for diners, pendant lighting and Vitra Eames side chairs. The break out area is also viewed from the ground floor as people are guided through the atrium space below.

The 60 minute rooms, general meeting rooms and service areas create a hub, which is set close to the cores to allow maximum natural light throughout the open plan area. The hub also provides the opportunity to showcase Thomson Reuters’ famous imagery, which predominantly features people in bursts of colour. Striking images also provide acoustic panels within each 60 minute room.

Feature wall panelling, graphics and hues of orange strengthen the Thomson Reuters branding throughout the space.

A colour scheme of charcoal framed glass, neutral beige and tonal striped carpets complement the vibrant fabrics, lava orange Perspex and feature pendant lighting spaced at intervals.

The fit out for Quintiles’ new EMEA Headquarters at Green Park was completed in just 16 weeks and provides an inspirational and sustainable workplace for Quintiles, consolidating their staff from three Bracknell offices, into the 121,350 sq ft BREEAM ‘Excellent’ building.  The building, which last week received the BCO Fit Out of Workspace Award for the South West of England, Thames Valley and South Wales region, currently accommodates 550 Quintiles employees, and supports dynamic working in both open plan workstations and cellular hot offices.  It incorporates many specialist facilities such as a business lounge, an executive and boardroom suite, client conference and meeting suite, a telepresence videoconferencing room, staff training facilities and a 200 seat restaurant with external terrace,

The focal point of the building is the spectacular full height linear atrium, which incorporates striking sky boxes designed as part of the fitting out, that create further break out and meeting spaces which cantilever out into the atrium from various levels.

Winners of the Mixology 12 Awards will be announced at the Summer Ball taking place on 20 June.
