Sean Hannaby, ex Chief Strategic Planning and Environment Officer for Cardiff County Council joins Scott Brownrigg
Scott Brownrigg Planning, part of the international design practice Scott Brownrigg, has appointed ex Chief Strategic Planning and Environment Officer for Cardiff Council, Sean Hannaby, as Planning Director for its award-winning Cardiff office. The strategic appointment will strengthen and expand the teams’ geographic presence within the Wales and South West of England markets, and provide clients in the region with a truly integrated service.
With a career that spans over 26 years across the UK, including 11 years of providing strategic leadership to Cardiff Council and Forest of Dean District Council, Sean has a thorough understanding of Local Government and urban and rural planning knowledge. With experience ranging from large scale residential/mixed use, retail and industrial through to sport and leisure, nature conservation and agriculture, significant projects he has been involved in have included ‘Oblivion’ and ‘Hex’ at Alton Towers, JCB special products factory in Staffordshire, Newport City Centre redevelopment, the 2010 Ryder Cup Course and Clubhouse at the Celtic Manor, the 1 million sq ft distribution centre for Wilkinson’s in Newport, the £180m Viridor EFW plant, Cardiff City Stadium and Capital Retail Park. Sean has also been involved in policy development as part of the South East Wales Spatial Plan Core Group and was influential in both the English LDF and Welsh LDP formats.
Sean will have an important role within Scott Brownrigg, identifying and developing business opportunities within the region for both the Planning team and the wider practice; he will also be responsible for providing planning advice on a number of existing developments within Wales and the South West Region, as well as developing the company’s profile within the region.
