Red Kite House, HR Wallingford
At the forefront of sustainable design, Red Kite House, on Howbery Park in Wallingford was designed as the new headquarters for the Environment Agency. The building, together with sister building, Kestrel House is curved in plan and forms the gateway into the business park. Achieving a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating, with carbon emissions 26% below that outlined in the Department of the Environment’s benchmark standard, and incorporates many best practice environmental features. The building has won a number of awards since its completion including an IAS/OAS Award in 2005 and a National Energy Efficiency Award in 2006.
