Victoria Station Upgrade, London
The transport team worked on the initial stages of the upgrade of Victoria Underground Station, part of Transport for London’s five year, £10 billion investment programme. Used by over 75 million passengers each year, the station is at the heart of London’s transport network. Severe congestion during peak travel times has meant that station control measures are regularly enforced; the design aim to cut this peak time congestion. The upgrade project will increase the size of the station by 50%, with a new ticket hall, lifts and escalators to ease congestion, and provide step-free access from street level to the Victoria, Circle and District Lines.
