TAV Airports Holding Co (GB)
The building form is an important element of the design of any airport terminal as it represents the ‘gateway’ to the city.
The building form should also reflect the general arrangement of the building and its surrounding environment.
The inspiration for the new terminal building and its architectural expression is derived from water and sea waves breaking along the shore, with jetties providing docking positions for the people carriers/aircraft. The dynamic wave forms to both the central processor and the pier illustrate the high level movement of departing passengers from landside to airside with a reversed movement at the lower level of the wave for arriving passengers from airside to landside.
