The next chapter of our Intelligent Architecture podcast is here. In Episode Two, Architecture + Progression – Part 2, we continue the conversation from Episode One, exploring how a practice can remain relevant and agile across decades of change.

Alistair Brierley, Head of the Design Research Unit, sits down again with Darren Comber, CEO at Scott Brownrigg, to delve deeper into the strategies that have kept the practice thriving over the past 25 years. From brand extension to diversification across services and sectors, Darren shares how staying curious, adaptable, and innovative has allowed Scott Brownrigg to evolve while maintaining the integrity of its design philosophy.

Later in the episode, we are joined by a very special guest, retired Aviation Director Chris Blow. Chris played a pivotal role during his time at the then Scott Brownrigg and Turner, helping to launch the firm’s aviation sector with landmark projects including Heathrow Terminal 4, Manchester Terminal 2, and Lyon St Exupery Airport. Beyond the technical expertise, Chris also brings a rich perspective from his career as an author on airport terminal design, providing insights into how architecture intersects with operational excellence and passenger experience.

Architecture + Progression – Part 2 is an invitation to explore how architecture responds to changing demands, how ideas translate into lasting impact, and how a practice like Scott Brownrigg continues to shape the built environment with confidence, creativity, and curiosity.
