We’re pleased to see Infinity Labs reach a major construction milestone, with the topping out ceremony marking the completion of the building’s highest structural point at the University of Southampton Science Park.
Designed by Scott Brownrigg, Infinity Labs will provide 3,400 sqm of much-needed multi-tenancy laboratory space at the entrance to the Science Park. The new building has been designed as a gateway for future development, creating a strong first impression while supporting the next generation of science and technology businesses in the Central South.
Held on 14 April, the ceremony brought together more than fifty stakeholders from across the region, including representatives from local government, academia, businesses, the project team and supply chain partners. Guests gathered to celebrate the completion of the building’s distinctive curved steel frame, which we designed to reflect the flow of ideas, movement and collaboration.
A symbolic highlight of the event saw Cllr Nick Adams-King, Leader of Hampshire County Council, tighten the final bolt with a golden spanner before guests were invited to sign the uppermost steel beam.
Infinity Labs has been designed to meet the changing needs of science, technology and R&D-led occupiers. The building combines high-specification laboratories, office space and collaborative areas within one visually striking and highly practical workplace.
For us, a strong connection to nature was central to the design. As the façade now begins to take shape, the relationship between the building and its surrounding landscape is becoming clear, with offices and laboratories carefully positioned to capture views across the Science Park.
Delivered in collaboration with Southampton Science Park, Amiri Construction and the wider consultant team, Infinity Labs remains on programme for completion at the end of 2026.
Let's start a conversation.
