We’re pleased to share that Stuart Osborne-Cudmore, Project Director at Scott Brownrigg, has joined the UK Green Building Council’s Embodied Ecological Impacts Forum.
The forum brings together professionals from across the built environment who are actively exploring the ecological impacts embedded within what we design, specify and build. Its focus goes beyond carbon, addressing biodiversity loss, land-use change, resource depletion and wider ecological degradation - issues that increasingly define the real-world performance of buildings and places.
At Scott Brownrigg, Stuart leads our Biodiversity and Ecology Thematic Group, working across the practice to embed nature-positive thinking into projects and ways of working. His role spans research, strategic guidance and collaboration with teams, clients and external partners, ensuring ecological considerations are not treated as an afterthought but as a fundamental part of design decision-making.
Reflecting on his involvement in the forum, Stuart said: “The ecological consequences of the built environment are impossible to ignore. Being part of a forum that is openly sharing knowledge, challenging assumptions and exploring new approaches is a real opportunity - not just to learn, but to help push the industry towards outcomes that actively support nature.”
The Embodied Ecological Impacts Forum provides a confidential space for members to share successes, challenges and emerging practices in understanding the embodied ecological impact of the materials used in the built environment.
Stuart’s participation reinforces Scott Brownrigg’s commitment to listening, learning and contributing to industry conversations that move us closer to a genuinely regenerative built environment - one where ecology is integral to design, not peripheral to it.
Let's start a conversation.
