To design a new multi-tenancy research and development building at the entrance to The University of Southampton Science Park. Providing much-needed new laboratory space and supporting the Park’s commitment to fuel innovation and elevate the presence of British science and technology on the world stage.
The three-story building creates a sense of motion as its curved form embraces and activates a sweeping bend at the main entrance to the site, representing a seamless flow of ideas and collaboration. Space within the curved design is optimised to provide tenants the flexibility to adapt the layout to suit their needs.
A fabric-first approach with high-performance glazing, ultra-efficient heating, cooling and water systems and generation of renewable energy onsite helps to minimise operational carbon. A sloping green roof, planted with trees, hedgerows, ornamental shrubs and wildflowers, enhances biodiversity onsite and integrates the design into the Park’s natural setting.
Let's start a conversation.
