Virtual Roundtable: What if schools were designed for wellbeing?

On Wednesday 6 May at 4pm Scott Brownrigg and The Learning Crowd will be hosting a virtual roundtable on how school design can support the health and wellbeing of pupils and teachers in the post-Covid world.

Chaired by Scott Brownrigg’s Director of Education, Ian Pratt the panel will comprise:

In the midst of an unprecedented experiment into digital remote learning and an opportunity to review education models and examination systems, we are also offered a moment to reflect on why school buildings matter.

Apart from a change of scene and a hug from a friend, what else can the virtual world not replace? What value does the built education environment provide? Is this the moment when the value of architecture and design really come to the fore?

This roundtable will consider the important role architecture plays in not only supporting basic hygiene, health and safety, but also the marked improvement it can have on wellbeing and mental health. The built environment can help educators to guide generations of children to grow up happy and achieve their potential.
