This brief for this redevelopment was to provide a five to seven-storey building comprising 76 flats and 138 sq m of flexible industrial, research and development or office floor space along the canal side at Brentford Lock West. The scheme forms part of a wider strategy reconnect the area with its unique waterside location and industrial history.
The concept draws upon the history of Brentford in terms of materials, scale and detailing to provide a contextual response. The design focusses on the provision of a wide range of high quality, sustainable homes including those for affordable living to encourage the formation of a diverse and inclusive community.
The proposed public realm presents an opportunity to regenerate the brownfield site and create publicly accessible outdoor spaces, including secured landscape cycle storage and children play space created from sustainably sourced materials.
Let's start a conversation.
