Scott Brownrigg has been recognised in the Regenerative Architecture Index (RAI) 2026, receiving a Runner Up distinction within the Co-Evolving with Nature category and earning recognition as Ones to Watch across several assessment areas.

Developed by UK Architects Declare and Architecture Today, in partnership with Schüco, the Regenerative Architecture Index celebrates organisations that are embedding regenerative principles into design, delivery and practice. The initiative brings together 119 organisations committed to creating positive environmental and social outcomes, assessed against three themes: Being a Good Ancestor, Co-Evolving with Nature and Creating a Just Space for People.

Scott Brownrigg's recognition within Co-Evolving with Nature reflects the breadth of work being undertaken across the practice to support biodiversity, ecological restoration and community impact. Key initiatives highlighted include our Community Involvement Programme, research undertaken for Natural England and the Department for Education, and our ongoing exploration of vertical nature restoration, which investigates how buildings can actively contribute to biodiversity enhancement. The research programme is due to be launched in early 2027.

The practice was also recognised as Ones to Watch for a range of initiatives demonstrating leadership in sustainable and regenerative practice. These include our continued support of the RIBA Scott Brownrigg Award for Sustainable Design and the Don't Waste Buildings campaign, as well as the refurbishment of Thames Court, which incorporated circular economy principles and material reuse to save 236 tonnes of CO₂ and divert 15 tonnes of waste from landfill.

This recognition reflects Scott Brownrigg's commitment to delivering meaningful environmental and social value through design, reinforcing our vision to transform the industry to create a better world and our purpose of enriching lives through the built environment.

The dedicated Architecture Today RAI edition was distributed at the launch of Regenerative Design 2026, a month-long exhibition and events programme at the Building Centre, providing a platform for organisations to showcase how regenerative thinking is being translated into practice across the built environment.
