To provide a new state-of-the-art laboratory and workspace on the outskirts of Cambridge, served by secure cycle storage and changing facilities, car parking, landscaping and associated infrastructure.
Flexible laboratory and office space is provided within a single, three story building with an internal arrangement that allows for a potential floor by floor split and two tenancies per floor. High quality landscaping provides external amenity space with opportunities for outdoor working.
Site levels have been modified to achieve the best cut and fill for the scheme and to minimise external retaining walls. Swales act as 'natural boundaries from green belt land to the south, helping to minimise rainwater runoff from higher level fields. An external air source heat pump and photo voltaic panels on the roof form part of the wider sustainability strategy.
